Want to be a more effective leader?

It’s as easy as an attitude shift.

Let’s take a page out of Morgan DeBaun’s book, the CEO and Co-Founder of Blavity, Forbes 30 Under 30, and TechCrunch Founder of the Year.

Morgan pushes Blavity ahead with a passion to change the world – but it’s her charisma and attitude we’ll focus on today.

For those who don’t know, Blavity is a multimedia and tech platform for black millennials and entrepreneurs.

John Henry introduced me to it years ago as he argued with Tai Lopez live on YouTube live – he mentioned it as one of his investments.

But today, while reading some of the “Talk Like TED” book loaned by Ajit Mathew George for his research, an example came up that reminded me of Morgan and Blavity.

The first step to successfully speaking to a group, what a leader must do daily, is to show charisma!

In interviews, Morgan said she could have continued to sit in her high paying Silicon Valley role, or she could act on racial equity.

She could have a role in changing history, and she now wakes up every day fired up to do just that.

“I get to wake up and literally think about how we can make the world better: How can we create more opportunities for people? How can we make more lanes for people to swim in?”

“Talk Like TED” shows that research from Dr. Bono and Dr. Ilies, from The University of Minnesota and Michigan State University, respectively, suggests that charismatic leadership is directly linked to organizational success.

Leaders can transfer their positive emotions onto their team.

If you’re bummed out and complete a survey with positive charismatic people around, those people will influence how you respond. They uplift you.

Charisma changes what others think about you, what they think about the landscape for the team, and it’s beneficial for their health and wellness.

“The behavior of leaders can make a difference in the happiness and well-being of team members by influencing their emotional lives.”

How will you show your charisma and positivity today?
